On Friday 21st May, 2010 we celebrated our very first Holy Spirit Day.
This inaugural day was a great celebration of our school’s history and achievements. To help the children get into the spirit of the day and make it an important occasion the children came dressed in red to signify our school colours of red and white.
As part of their preparation for Confirmation the Year Six students led the assembly. That was followed by a variety of fun classroom activities for the children to enjoy. After eating lunch in our peer-support groups we all learned more about the History of our school via a powerpoint presentation by 3/4SH. We were fortunate to have our school founder Father O’Connell join us as well as Fr Murphy, Fr Brancik, Mr Neville Powles the Principal of Xavier High School and a large number of parents and friends.
We concluded with what was the highlight of the day – the release of 350 red and white ballons. It was a magnificient sight and a fitting end to a very memorable day.
A return email had accompanied each balloon and we have been thrilled to have one of our balloons found on a property in Gerogery East along Coach Road and another on a property at Humula out towards Tumburumba!
