On the first day of the school week (usually a Monday), a quick ‘welcome to the week’ assembly or gathering occurs in the undercovered area.
School assemblies are held every Friday between 2:30- 3:05 pm. Individual classes all take turns to showcase an ‘item’ at the weekly assembly (these are performed on stage and usually take between 10 & 15 minutes). Stage 3 children are rostered on to lead the assembly and to hand out merit awards, celebrating excellent work and wonderful efforts. This is both confidence and character building for our students and it is a big thrill for the children concerned if their parents are in attendance. All parents and friends are always most welcome to attend!. Parents are informed through the Newsletter or a class note home of the class responsible for an ‘item’ in an upcoming Assembly.
At every assembly we pay respect to the traditional owners, recite our school prayer, and sing our national Anthem.
